214 and counting

It's working, and it's easier than I could've ever imagined. I am
looking at the world through new eyes. I feel great. I can go on all
day about how my quality of life is improving as I lose weight. I can
play with the kids more and easier. I don't mind mild exercise. I'm
lighter on my feet. I have less pain in my body from "old age". I
don't know how much I'll lose, but I can't image falling victim again
to extreme over-eating.

Starting at 237 and down to 214 -- losing about 3 pounds a week. What
will June look like?

Okay -- my original goal was a steady progress toward the following:
<190 Feb 28th/08
Go hiking July 4th week/08

Well, this is May/08, and I still weigh 214. I'm 24 pounds behind
schedule. Who cares? I don't. I've finally found progress. Here's
the really strange part. My brother called a few months ago and said
he had a free ticket to go any where in the US. We first talked about
him going to see the Pacific Northwest, but he hasn't seen Rockies.
We changed plans and decided to meet in the Rockies around the first
of August. Here's the rub. I didn't have this goal in mind when we
made those changes, and I didn't have any plans to go hiking since I
hadn't lost the weight as planned.

If I continue to lose about 3 pounds per week, it should take about 8
weeks, to lose the 24 pounds to reach 190. Today is 5/23, and 8 weeks
from now is July 19th. How crazy? I can't believe this; it is
entirely possible, that I will weigh about 190 or less when we go to
the Rockies and hike.

I set this goal in Feb/2006 -- over 2 years ago. I never lost hope,
but I was discouraged.

Stay tuned; we'll see how this goes.

Thank you Paul McKenna! His program is the key to me reaching this goal.
